Thus, few people know that Sven is not a Russian or Chinese company at all, in spite of the fact that all its production capacities are deployed in the Celestial Empire, what is practiced by many eminent brands for a long time. Oy Sven Scandinavia Ltd was established in Kotka, a Finnish town situated on shore of the Gulf of Finland. And the enigmatic name Sven translated from Finnish means «energetic», «active» that characterizes this producer to the full extent. In the model range of the company great attention is focused to acoustic system sets designed for operation with multimedia computers and mobile gadgets. In their design, the broad experience of Sven is used for development and production of Hi-Fi acoustics that put sounding of such systems into a new quality level. Thereby, the company succeeds in saving very attractive prices for its products, what gives undeniable competitive advantages to it.

Sven HT-400 set offers the full-fledged system of surround sounding, consisting of five similar satellites of the cube shape and an active subwoofer. The bass module comprises not only its own power amplifier, but five amplifier channels for satellites as well. So, we have entirely active multichannel speaker system. It is enough to add a source and display device only to organize a home entertainment complex. A personal computer or notebook will be the best as a multimedia data source in such a system. The producer hints about this as well, supplying the acoustic set with three interblock cables with mini jacks, which are used very often in multichannel outputs of computer sound cards. However, if you take ordinary connectors with RCA jacks it will be possible to connect Blu-ray or DVD player to Sven HT-400, on conditions that it has a multichannel decoder of the surround sounding onboard. A separate input on the subwoofer patch board is dedicated to the commutation with stereophonic sources, such as mobile media players. Moreover, audio processor built in Sven HT-400 is able to transform the two-channel signal into 5.1 format by loading all acoustic systems of the set.

Every satellite has only one broadband loudspeaker with 76 mm cone. There is no doubt that such a small emitter is not able to reproduce the sound range lower half adequately – a loudspeaker starts to operate only from 120 Hz. Moreover, a satellite of similar construction is very similar to a point sound source, which is considered ideal for the formation of correct sound picture. Especially as the subwoofer, which operates up to 150 Hz, takes upon itself the whole low frequency range. If satellites have the «closed case» acoustic appearance then the subwoofer is equipped with a phase inverter port located on the case left wall, which boosts the performance at the lowest frequencies. The head with 133 mm cone is located immediately ahead and closed with a metallic grill. There are three sound volume controls, as well as the subwoofer and the center level controls, on the case right wall. The remote control included in delivery allows additionally to tune rear channels levels and to switch inputs. There is mains switch, 5.1 multichannel analog input, stereophonic input and five pairs of spring acoustic terminals for satellite connections on the subwoofer case rear wall.

Taking into consideration the frontal location of speaker heads in all loudspeakers of the set, including the subwoofer, there will not be special recommendations for Sven HT-400 installation. All one need to do is to provide a sufficient gap on the left during the subwoofer installation, because the phase inverter port is located exactly on the case left wall. During soundtrack of movies, the set has formed the exact sound surrounding with the accurate sound sources positioning in space. With making no claims as to the adequate dramatic effect transmission of tectonic cataclysms, the acoustics demonstrated very light and air sounding. And in computer games it threw a gamer in a masterly fashion into the centre of events – the presence effect was created superb.
