For over 10 years SVEN company has been making chances of its competitors very slim in the low-cost solutions sector by offering to its buyers unexpectedly rich and deep sound at a readily affordable price. Not long ago SVEN has introduced for the first time a totally new type of speaker system composed of soundbar and wireless subwoofer. So, prepare to meet SVEN SB-550 system!
The word «soundbar» is most likely unknown to you yet. Not so long ago it was unknown to us too, so we’ll give here some short explanation.
Image quality of modern TV sets is known to substantially overrun sound quality. The reason is slimness of modern TV sets which cabinets are so «slim» that they just cannot accommodate sufficient number of drivers of required size and power to create realistic surround sound.
What are the actions of those who are not happy with the quality of built-in TV speakers? Usually, they purchase cumbersome 5.1 speaker system consisting of front speakers, central speaker and subwoofer. They puzzle their heads over how to arrange the speakers so as to locate them with the least possible loss to their interior, how to lay the numerous cables and hide them. If you used to be a spider in your former life you couldn’t help but unwittingly spread the cables from your 5.1 speaker system so intricately that your mother-in-law, your wife, children and pet animals just cannot avoid getting caught into them. I hope you have already guessed about the existence of far more elegant way out.
Soundbar is a compact surround sound system specially designed for slim TV set owners. Soundbar is attached to the underside of TV set delivering you from the need to provide sufficient area for several speakers within your room and to lay cables to them. When choosing a soundbar you shall consider its length as it shall be approximately the length of TV set for the TV set + Soundbar couple appearance to be harmonised. Soundbar’s length of 940 mm corresponds to that of 40" - 42" flat panel TV set.
Don’t be afraid: this "French baguette" is well dismountable and you won’t have to stir about a thing of 1 meter long. SVEN SB-550 speaker system soundbar consists of three components: left and right speaker units are attached to the central module and fastened with special pins supplied with the system to prevent the assembly from coming apart due to high power sound vibrations.
The soundbar central module contains control keys (volume and input selection) and LED display with blue backlight.
The right and left speaker modules of the soundbar contain 2 mid-frequency and 1 high-frequency driver units each.
Bracket, screws and plastic expansion bolts with self-driving screws for wall mounting of the soundbar are supplied with the unit.
Due to outboard AC power adapter the soundbar became more compact and in harmony with modern «slim» TV sets.
Wireless connection between the subwoofer and the soundbar distinguishes the SVEN SB-550 system. As a result, the subwoofer may be placed anywhere, whether in the corner beside the TV set or inside the TV set niche as low-frequency sound is not localizable to human ear and there is no more need to connect the subwoofer with the soundbar. The only limitation is closeness of power socket to the subwoofer.
To enable wireless connection with the soundbar from subwoofer press first PAIR button on the soundbar’s rear panel and then PAIR button on the subwoofer’s front panel.
RC unit has individual volume control of the subwoofer.
Of course, some dynamic marks of sound stages delivered by 5.1 speaker system you will not hear with SVEN SB-550 speaker system. But it’s not too big a price for compactness and small number of cables required for surround sound system connection.
