SVEN MS-309 multimedia speaker system has recently been presented by SVEN company. . It offers a solution aimed at the users wishing to get high-quality sound, and decent bass in particular, at the least possible cost.
The satellites with 90х130х98 mm dimensions are made of MDF covered with black matt vinyl film.
For horizontal placement, there are four rubber feet on the bottom of each speaker, though no means for wall mounting are provided.
The front panels of the satellites are supplied with grilles covered with acoustextile. You can remove the grilles, but just to have a look at the driver, as the MDF panel under the grille is not decorated.
The full-range driver looks quite good. It has a paper cone 60 mm in diameter supposed to provide respectable sound quality.
The package contents clearly show that this is a consumer grade product. The supplied signal cable has mini-jacks on both ends, and the cables transferring the signal to the satellite speakers are integrated. Nevertheless, all the things necessary for PC or laptop connection are available in the box.
The system's price of about $40 suggests a tremendous choice of both two-piece and three-piece speaker sets on the market. We won’t focus on the pros and cons of 2.0 and 2.1 systems. Let’s just see what the novelty we’ve come across is worth.
