SVEN ROYAL 1R Review

Any producer has models, which, for some reasons, are particularly successful and become a cult. Among SVEN products this is Royal line. Being tested as a stereo pair it was awaited as updated Royal 3, but the Company decided to present it as an improved version of Royal 1, retaining the same advantages. So, we have classically-shaped speakers on tall legs, with MDF case, covered with dark wood veneer. The front panel is designed with no screens and gratings, it is finished with a plastic imitating piano lacquer; decorative insertions, covering the speakers, are painted in silver. It looks nice. The SVEN stylish cap above the magnetic coil is traditionally made in metal in the form of bullets, and not tied to the speaker.  

The acoustic furnishing of the speakers is Bass Reflex. The dome tweeter is made of silk; the midrange/woofer is made of woven polymer on a rubber suspension. The combination of sufficient booster capacity and good reaction of speaker drivers provides an excellent reproduction of complicated dynamic compositions. And in general, with an average position of the volume control the sound is worthy - high, middle, and lower frequencies are being well worked out. But it’s not recommended to turn the volume level up to the maximum, as the booster being on the edge can reproduce the audio pieces inadequately.
The radiator of the booster is hidden in the body of the right speaker (and therefore its rear panel, of course, heats). On the front side of the speaker there is a LED, an IR-receiver for remote control and three buttons: a functional, volume up and down. When you press the first button, the volume control changes its function to setting of frequencies. If you hold the first button for a long time the average parameters for all frequencies will be set. The indicator light changes from green to red, confirming the action, when you use remote control.
The left speaker is connected with a cable fixed by screw terminals, so if you want, you can replace it. Bringing together a great case, high quality sound, two stereo inputs, control on the front panel and with the remote control, we get an excellent multimedia speakers.
