When buying a computer we plan for a long time our budget for a video card, memory, processor and somehow we forget about speakers. But tweeters for 500 roubles, even in close liaison with a powerful sound card, will mar the impression of any game. But we do not also advise to buy the first expensive speakers that come across – you should come to the choice appropriately. There are known cases when some quite affordable models sounded much better than more expensive speakers. We decided to help you with your choice and to seek out a good variant within 4000 roubles. A set of new SVEN STREAM speakers caught our eyes.

Singing twins

At first glance there was nothing to them. It was a simple 2.0 system consisting of two satellites. Speakers had standard size for their class and can be placed easily on a table on each side of a monitor. They are manufactured of wood and are available of two colors: black or cherry. We did not have a grievance against the quality of assembling – speakers were done thoroughly.

We revealed the first surprises at the stage of connecting. A leading right speaker is connected with the left one extremely unusually. Instead of a habitual audio cable, SVEN Company offers a thick well-screened cable with the end with four contacts. If such a cable is broken off, then it will be difficult to replace it, but the quality of signal is beyond praise. During further inquiry, the design of speakers interested us even more.

Hi-Fi to the mass

У SVEN STREAM has two loudspeakers for every satellite: one high-frequency tweeter and 133 mm emitter for basses. But what is the most interesting is speakers are controlled according to the binary amplification circuit (Bi-Amp), so every frequency channel is processed individually. On top of all of that they have such interesting things as quartic filters. We will not describe the operation mechanism; we simply say that generally such things are used in hi-fi systems. The higher class of a filter, the better it processes the audio signal, providing at the output a more precise characteristic. Phase inverters in SVEN STRAEM are traditionally located on the rear panel of the case, so it is better to place speakers a little farther away walls.

ПонравWe liked the control. Knobs of tone, bass and volume are not hidden, but located on the front panel – everything is ready to your hand. At that, potentiometers have influence on the sound indeed. If basses are reduced, then they sound really quieter, but not indistinctly as often happens. An output to headphones must be also written as an advantage.


Control knobs are located on the front panel.	A jack for connection of speakers is not an ordinary, but for four contacts. You can see also a fuse on the rear panel, which will protect speakers against overloads.

Operation test

Speakers are connected to a player simply. For this SVEN offers to use ordinary RCA jacks, but cables with 3.5 mm jacks are also included. The first listening demonstrated the directivity of speakers immediately. SVEN STREAM pretends to the rank of monitors and by the sound the system tends to studio models. As a preliminary – they are very exacting to a sound source. It is better not to use MP3 on such speakers and try to use CDs of high quality.

SVEN STREAM speakers must be placed correctly: at the eye level, with the distance of approx. one and a half meter from each other and approx. two meter from yourself. Speakers, as the saying goes, reveal themselves in such position. They can be scattered to edges of a table, of course, but it is not what is required. You should not expect the ideal amplitude-frequency characteristic because speakers are multimedia. So the low frequency level has been increased a little bit in them in order grenades in games explode the way they should be.

We have the following final result regarding SVEN STREAM. The speakers sound very interestingly taking into consideration their price RUB 4000 only. Well, the bass line is put in the forefront a little bit, but at that the normal balance of high and middle frequencies remains. Speakers really dispose to the thoughtful listening to music in a comfortable chair and with the cup of hot tea in hands.
