Every company has products, which it takes a legitimate pride in them. Such products in SVEN Company are ROYAL and STREAM speakers. We told about the last speakers quite recently, but to remember about the “royal” speaker system we have had no reason. Today we have such a reason: after three years after production of the first stereo system, SVEN Company presented ROYAL 1R speaker system.

In outward appearance, new ROYAL 1R practically does not differ from predecessors. Cabinets are made of wood, the front part is covered with a glossy plastic panel, everything is black; the pair of loudspeakers is framed with a grey ribbon.

There are no dust-protective grills on emitters. High-frequency speaker 25 mm in diameter is made of silk, which mollifies the sharp top range. Low-frequency loudspeakers 133 mm in diameter are woven of polymer materials and connected to the cabinet through a soft rubber suspension. A company cap above the magnetic coil is made of metal as recently, it is molded in the form of a bullet and not tied to loudspeakers.

The speaker system is controlled as before: there are three buttons, Function, Vol+ and Vol-, at the foot on the front panel of the left speaker. The last two buttons have several functions at once. By default they control volume, but if “Function” button is pressed then they will switch over to the balance mode of low or high frequencies. It seemed uncomfortable to us, but users of first ROYAL 1 did not agree with us. They said it does not take much time to get used to using them. However, we however would recommend to SVEN Company to mount at least a small display with digits, because it is actually even not clear, what volume level speakers have: so if you accidentally turn on the music in the evening – the whole house will wake up. However, if you press “Function” button and hold it within several seconds, then all presets including the volume level will be reset to average values.

Speaking in a roundabout way

What has not been available in ROYAL 1 speaker system previously it is the remote control. It is available now. All control functions are doubled on a little piece of plastic, as well as Standby button has been added. But not everything is smoothly with it. There is a light-emitting diode on speakers, which signals about operation modes of the speaker system; it slowly blinks red at the standby mode.

As well as the first ROYAL 1 speaker system, these speakers are connected one with the other with two cores of the audio cable. There is a fuse, ON/OFF button and audio inputs on the rear side of the leading speaker. It is possible to connect two audio sources simultaneously to the new ROYAL 1R and to switch over between them using AUX and PC buttons on the remote control. Recently such was not available as well.

On the throne

ROYAL 1R speaker system sounds fantastically as for multimedia systems. The stereo system perfectly reproduces low and high frequencies – sometimes it even seems that musicians play just in front of you. These speakers play pop, jazz and the classics an encore.

Well and, of course, a brand feature of expensive speakers of SVEN Company is a necessity of the correct placing. If ROYAL 1R speakers are thoughtlessly hurled on the table, then there will be no surround sound at all.

ROYAL 1R is one of the best stereo systems in its class. SVEN Company offers fantastic sound with clear high and low frequencies for just RUB 4,000. If you like music and search speakers of really high quality, then ROYAL 1R will be a good choice – subject to the condition, of course, that you will take some pains to sort out the mess on the desk for them.
