Tuki Review of SVEN MS-2100 Tree Phonic: High Quality of Sound and Pleasant Bonuses

SVEN MS-2100 is a medium-sized speaker system of 2.1 type costing approximately $80 with several undeniable advantages. In the first place, the new product initially looks nice due to the use of quite big loudspeakers and cases. In the second place, it has the convenient wireless control, radio and computer-independent player, which is not a speaker system on default in the cost effective segment.

Package content

The speaker system is for sale in a carton with classic color; all required accessories are packed inside it. Wires to connect satellites have small cross-section; therefore, they can be replaced if required. Especially as because the use of spring terminals provides complete freedom – cables can be replaced or lengthened easily to increase the length. The signal cable is only one and it is intended to be connected to sources with 3.5 mm output. The remote control is supplied with two batteries.

Fasteners for wall mounting of satellites are also included in the package content.

Exterior

From the external appearance standpoint, MS-2100 looks quite modern and the abundant use of black glossy plastic has already become a feature for cost effective SVEN speaker systems. The material looks eye-catchingly, but it becomes dirty quite quickly and is covered with fingerprints.

The digital display is located on the subwoofer front side along with several controls, which facilitates the system control considerably.

The construction of satellites is not the simplest, because big tweeters with plastic domes are used along with ordinary broadband loudspeakers. Due to this, the frequency range promises to be broadband.

At that, cases are not exaggerated in dimensions at all – they can be placed as you like. There are small rubber legs-tablets at the bottom, if required there is a possibility to use optional wall mountings, about which we have already mentioned.

The subwoofer is more massive. 176 mm loudspeaker is hidden on one side practically without being noticed, and only the phase inverter is placed on the front panel. Its pipe has rather big cross-section and is widen at its end to lower jet-stream noises.

A big knurled knob is used to control the speaker system. It combines several functions at once: it controls not only the volume, but switches over inputs as well when held down. Three lower buttons are designed to switch over tracks on USB drives and tune FM radio. By the way, all channels are stored in the memory after automatic scanning, which appears very convenient.

However, some functions are available only when the remote control is used. For example, you will not be able to adjust the frequency balance without it, because Bass/Treble buttons are available on the remote control only.

Sound

Let us begin with consideration of the amplitude-frequency characteristic got with neutral positions of timbre controls. The subwoofer sounds in the range from 40 to 250 Hz, it has quite steep fronts and is not notable for superfluous irregularity of the characteristic. All that provides the full-fledged bass. Satellites have the standard bandpass flatness for their class. At that, the top of medium frequencies and the high-frequency range are slightly lifted up relative to the designated curve, which inevitably will result in the sound timbre displacement.

According to subjective measurements, SVEN MS-2100 sounds quite well. Bass is really full-fledged, and its quantity can be adjusted easily within the required limits, for example, to eliminate distortions in the supersaturated music or simply to get the neutral picture. Sounding of satellites appears quite distant from an original, however it is not perceived as a defect, rather, it is perceived as a speaker system individuality. As a whole, the three phonic provides the standard volume and detail, as well as it forms quite good scene.

In result

We have liked SVEN MS-2100. The quality and sound volume ate at level. We can note additionally a quite good FM radio.
