Good speakers are the required satellite of a table PC. The most popular are 2.0 systems within the territory of Russia. Such set makes possible to enjoy the qualitative sound, but at that, it does not occupy a lot of space in contrast, for example, to 5.1 systems. Today we will test SVEN SPS-707 advanced multimedia system. It suggests an interesting set of functional possibilities at the very attractive price.

Package contents
Speakers are supplied in a compact carton with light colors. It has short specification and features of the system, as well as its picture.
Besides speakers, the buyer will find the acoustic cable 2 m long, 2RCA–mini-jack cable, 2RCA to 2RCA cable, power cord, the remote control with CR2032 battery, warranty card and User’s Manual in the carton.
That is all the things needed for the beginning of the adequate use of the system.
Remote control
SVEN SPS-707 provides a possibility to control the system with the help of the compact remote control with the coverage range 7 meters. At that, its compactness does not affect its functionality.
Appearance
SVEN SPS-707 has the classic black external appearance; the dimensions of speakers are 160×255×200 mm.
The combination of wooden case and glossy plastic is used on the front panels. All this with the smoothed side angles arises sensation of the one-piece construction.
The system is assembled at a high level, details are fitted to each other perfectly, and no creak or slack of details are observed.
Designers used an interesting approach to position control elements: a control pane on the active speaker is positioned not on the rear side as it usually is, but on the upper panel. The button set practically duplicates the remote control.
The button set consists of four mechanical buttons – ON/OFF button, mode switching and volume controls. LED indicators, which display the system operation, are located there as well.
The speakers are connected to one another with the help of the twin core cable with fixation in terminals. Such connection makes it possible to increase the distance between speakers as may be required, by replacing an acoustic cable from the package contents for another one with the required length. An ordinary cheapest cable will do for this, which is used, for example, to connect speakers in a car.
There are terminals to connect the second speaker, linear inputs with RCA connectors, AUX port with 3.5 mm jack, power cord input and power on button on the active speaker rear panel.
There are phase inverters on the rear panels of both speakers. Therefore, it is recommended to place them at a distance not less than 30 cm from the wall.
Rubber legs are provided at the bottom of speakers to decrease sliding and vibration.
The only problem is the front side. It has not a top cover, and since the gloss is used there then fingerprints are left there.
Testing
There are no problems at all to connect SVEN SPS-707. All one need to do is to select a required cable and connect it to a sound source. It is possible to connect several devices simultaneously.
After the first switching on, the system passes all the connected sound sources successively, displaying on indicators an active (connected) channel with green lighting. In future, you have to use the MODE button on the active speaker control panel (or the remote control) to switch modes. The same button is additionally functioning as the high and low frequencies control from the control panel.
In the absence of incoming sound you can perceive a slightly distinguished rustle close to speakers, it is caused, most probably, by the impulse power supply unit used in this system..
Frequencies are balanced here; there is a skew neither to low nor to high frequencies. At that high frequencies are pure without unwanted sounds, bass is soft without superfluous vibration. The frequency spectrum is perfect, the sound is saturated, speakers have proved to be good both in games and during listening the classic music. Music is played without distortions at any volume level. However, with the maximum volume and the availability of very low frequencies in a music composition, the speakers start sobbing distinctly, to all appearances, due to the small volume of speakers.
Results
SVEN SPS-707 demonstrated perfect results during testing. This system can be recommended as a base system to use jointly with a PC, media centers and notebooks. The system works off its cost for 100 %. The advantages of this system are its appearance, the assembly quality, saturated sound, cost, remote control possibility and connection versatility.
